NBC UNIVERSAL partners with the multitalented Oscar- and Emmy-winning producing team of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron ("Smash," "Chicago") to ring in the holidays with an unprecedented world premiere television event, "The Sound of Music Live!" - a live telecast based on the stage version of the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, starring Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood as Maria and acclaimed British actor Stephen Moyer ("True Blood") as Captain von Trapp.

From Universal Television, "The Sound of Music" is executive produced by Meron and Zadan. Beth McCarthy-Miller and Rob Ashford serve as directors.

The band, who worked on the track with Mike Del Rio, had the following to say about its creation and evolution: “We were in a circle, vibing out so hard, just saying random things and creating this story of this person who just did not know how to cut the rope with someone in their life. It was maybe a darker relationship energy: “If love’s a drug I’m never high enough.” It’s someone who’s maybe too drawn in, too obsessed.” Listen to the single!

He is a writer, composer, producer and director who has authored 30 original musicals and numerous other widely produced works.  He has also produced and directed nine musicals at the internationally known Redlands Bowl, including Annie, The Sound of Music, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and most recently, Disney’s Mary Poppins for the Redlands Community Music Association.
